Product Description
This image is of an old Anchor that is displayed at the Salthill Promenade in Galway , Ireland.
The evening light in the background has a lovely warm glow coming from it and gives off a relaxing tranquil effect.
The Anchor was invented in Ancient Greece mainly because of the highly advanced shipbuilding and naval facilities that Greece had for that time. Initially the Greeks used this advanced knowledge for fishing and marine industry but gradually the advancements were put to military use for the defence and attack on enemy shipping.
In the very early stages of shipping and The ship industry, they just used large rocks tied to a rope of some kind and then thrown overboard to try to keep that ship from moving. It evolved from there to eventually the proper Anchor that ships have today.
This Image comes in 3 different sizes, one being a Poster option.
